Obituary for Timothy "Mort" Morency

Timothy J. “Mort” Morency, 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 13, 1949, in Glens Falls,NY, he was the son of the late Francis “Honey” and Anne (Taylor) Morency.
Tim graduated from Fort Edward High School, Class of 1968.
He married Kathleen Dudley and they spent 45 years together before her passing on October 23, 2019.
Tim was employed as a police officer at the Fort Edward Police Department for 23 years, as well as with the New York State Capital Police for two years. He also worked as an independent contract carrier for the United States Postal Service for many years.
Tim was a lifetime member of the Fort Edward Fire Company, serving for 52 years. Prior to the merging of the two fire departments forming the Fort Edward Fire Company, he also served on Durkee Hose starting in 1972.
Tim could often be found trying his luck at the casino and watching the New York Yankees. He loved throwing large celebrations for Fourth of July including fireworks for his friends. He will always be fondly remembered for his Sunday morning donut deliveries, and he will be greatly missed by his many family members and friends.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Tim was predeceased by his grandchildren, Alex and Alexis Catalfamo, his sister-in-law Faith Morency, and his son-in-law, Micheal Bills.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Matthew Morency (Tina) of Gansevoort, NY, Patrick Morency (Nicole) of Glens Falls, NY, Patty Bills of Fort Edward, and Jamie Dudley of Gansevoort, his grandchildren, Nate Morency, Sean Morency, Lauren Morency, Abigail Morency, Leighton Morency, Eliana Morency, Adam Dudley (Andrea), Alyson Chimiak (Mike), Casey Bills (Corey), and Adam Bills (Lindsey), his great-grandchildren, Able, Fynn, Remi, Levi, Mason, Noah, Joe, Maddy, and Benjamin, his brothers, Jeffrey Morency, and Michael Morency (Diane), brother in-law, Scott Dudley (Mindy) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call from 4-6pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828. A Funeral Service will take place at 12pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
