Viola H. Wilson, 87, of Corinth passed away suddenly on Monday March 14, 2016 at the Glens Falls Hospital with her family by her side.

Born in Massena, NY on August 1, 1928, one of fifteen children, she was the daughter of the late, Cecil and Hazel (Frego) Burnie.

For 41 years Viola worked for the New York Telephone Co. as an operator and later moving into the district office until her retirement in 1988. After she retired, Viola moved to Cocoa Fl. where she spent the next 25 years before returning home in 2013.

Viola enjoyed gardening, antiquing, knitting and crocheting. She loved bowling and especially loved to Golf. She toured the United States as well as visiting China, Europe and Mexico. Viola was and always will be known for her famous French bread. She especially loved the time she spent with her family.

She was a past president of the Hudson Falls BPW and a member of the Glens Falls, Association for the Blind. While in Florida she was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers doing charity work in her community.

In addition to her parents, Viola is predeceased by her son, Robert Charles Wilson; her daughter, Joanne Louise Greco; her grandson, Travis Wilson; and her traveling companion of 20 years, Frank Waite.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna Jane Shea and her husband, Donald, of Corinth, NY; her son, Ward Orren Wilson and his wife, Ruth, of Conroe TX; her son, Phillip Ronald Wilson and his wife, Gail, of Olmstedville, NY; her son, Raymond John Wilson and his wife, Nancy, of Rotterdam, NY; her son, Daniel Dean Wilson and his wife, Kimberly, of South Glens Falls, NY; her son Mark Thomas Wilson and his wife, Margo, of Glens Falls, NY; her daughter in law, Virginia Wilson, of GA; as well as nineteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service and interment will be held in the spring and at the convenience of the family.
