Obituary for Wendy Jane Lund (Bolster)

Ballston Spa

Wendy J. (Bolster) Lund, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the Saratoga Hospital with her family by her side.

Born May 11, 1958 in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ernest “Bo” Bolster and Elva “Shorty” (Ayers) Bolster.

Wendy graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor’s Degree in sociology and a minor in Latin American History.

She was employed as an administrative assistant.

On March 31, 1984, Wendy married William “Chip” Lund at the First Baptist Church in Glens Falls where she remained a lifelong member.

Wendy was very active in volunteer work and participated as the Volunteer Coordinator Captain for Rebuilding Together Saratoga County. She also volunteered for the Showcase of Homes and the Ballston Spa Library Book Sales. In addition, Wendy was a volunteer usher at SPAC for many years. She enjoyed traveling and spent three weeks in Europe with Chip. Wendy was also an avid runner, and was a member of the American Association of University Women.

In addition to her father, Wendy was predeceased by her niece Brooke Martindale, her sister-in-law Arden Lund, and her father-in-law William Lund.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 30 years, Chip Lund, her mother, Elva “Shorty” Bolster, her sisters; Lonnie Bell and Sherri Martindale, her nephews; Kevin Martindale and his fiancée Karry Lambert, Eddie Bell and his wife Sky, and Jonathan Aikins and his wife Jessica, her nieces; Katherine Murphy and her husband Benjamin and JoEllen Holmberg and her husband Dan, her great-nieces; Kaylin Martindale and Ellie Bell, her great-nephews; Jack Murphy and Jace Holmberg, her sister-in-law Elaine Aikins, and her mother-in-law Dorothy Lund.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Glens Falls, 100 Maple Street, Glens Falls, NY with Rev. Donald R. Shuler officiating.

Interment will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY.
