William A. “Billy Boy” Ash Sr., 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his large family.
Born on March 18, 1944, in Proctor, VT, he was the son of the late William Henry Ash Sr. and Frances Claudia (Westcott) Ash.
On August 5, 1987, William married the love of his life, Maureen Hobbs in Gansevoort.
For many years William worked for Killian’s Dairy in Gansevoort which became his second family for the last 39 years.
William liked to fish, hunt, attend different fairs, farming going camping. His greatest enjoyment was having his family and friends get together including the pig roast, loved classical country music. He always helped people and gave them anything they needed, even if he didn’t have it. William especially enjoyed his grandchildren and his beloved pet (Lily). Anything he ever wanted to work on was never a “William project” it was a “WE project”.
In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by his grandparents, Wallace and Ida (Blake) Ash; his brother, Ronald Ash.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 31 years, Maureen; his step-mother, Nancy Ash of Corinth; his children, Lisa (Larry) Dickinson of Fort Edward, Wendy Seney of Greenwich, William (Marlene) Ash Jr. of Schuylerville, Bryan (Heidi) Ash Sr. of Fort Edward, Billie Jo Donnelly (Ted) of Fort Edward, Christina Harrison of Plaquemine, LA, Roy Ash Jr (Betty) of Waterford, VT, Betty Walbourn (Ralph) of Gansevoort, Brenda New (Steve) of Fort Edward, Laurie LaBarge (Ralph) of Gansevoort; his siblings, David Ash of Gansevoort, William H. Ash Jr. of Corinth, Laura WagenBlast (John) Fort Edward, Nancy Rowe (Harley) of Fort Edward, Ida Gaither (Eric) of Corinth, Wanda Leonard (Chuck) of North Haverhill, NH and Willie Mae Ash (David) Littleton, NH; 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 2 to 4pm on Monday, April 1, 2019 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
A Funeral Service will be conducted following the calling hours at 4pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
