William H. Busch, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital with his son by his side.

Born August 1, 1922, in Glens Falls, NY, William was the son of the late Howard M. and Mary (Holland) Busch. After Mary’s passing at a young age, he was raised by his father and his step-mother, Mary (Creeden) Busch.

Bill graduated from St. Mary’s Academy and enrolled in the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #773 Apprentice Program. Bill was a member of the Local #773 for 67 years, and was also a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters.

On August 3, 1946, Bill married the love of his life, Shirley Rozell at St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls. They were married for 68 years until her passing on July 21, 2014.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 2 enlistments including the Korean Conflict where he received the Korean Service Medal and also the United Nations Medal. After his discharge, Bill was an active member of the American Legion Mohican Post 553, The VFW Post 2475, The Eagles Club AERIE 2486, and the Elks BPOE of Glens Falls, Lodge 81. He was also a member of the South Glens Falls Rotary Club, and volunteered for Little League.

More recently, Bill was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls. He also enjoyed golfing, gardening, tending to his yard, but most especially spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Bill was predeceased by his sister Nina Phillips, and his brothers; Howard (Skip) Busch, and George Busch, and his favorite dog Duffy.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, William Busch Jr., his grandchildren; Janell Hodge and Jessica Morris, his great-grandchildren; Keena, William, Daniel, Kyle, Tameka, and James, his great-great grandchild, Braelynn, several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his beagle, Snoopy.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, August 18, 2014 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave, South Glens Falls, with Rev. Guy A. Childs officiating.

Rite of Committal will follow Mass at 12pm at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
