Obituary for Robert Usher

Robert  Usher
South Glens Falls and Atlanta, GA

Robert E. Usher, 57, from Atlanta Georgia passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, July 12, 2013.

He was born on March 7, 1956 in South Glens Falls to Robert and Margaret Usher.

Bob graduated from St Mary's Academy of Glens Falls, New York in 1974. He received his Bachelors Degree from Northeastern University in Engineering and completed his Masters Degree from Purdue University. He started his career at Harris Corporation in Melbourne, Florida. He continued his career with Advanced Control Systems and New Energy Associates and then General Electric in Atlanta up until his passing. Bob was recently recognized as a senior member of the Institute if Electronics and Engineering. He also was an active fund raising member for the March of Dimes.

He enjoyed playing the piano, hiking, reading, photography and had a passion for acquiring the newest items in electronics.

He was predeceased by his father, Robert J. Usher and his granddaughters, Makenzie and Sydney Lord.

Survivors include his daughter, Kristin Usher Lord (Matthew Lord) of Bernville, PA, his mother, Margaret M. Usher of South Glens Falls, NY, his brother, Daniel Usher of Saratoga Springs, NY, his sister, Maureen Usher Linehan (Michael Linehan) of South Glens Falls, NY, his brother, Michael Usher of South Glens Falls, NY, his brother, David Usher, of Lake George, NY and his former wife, Mary Stein Usher. His nieces and nephew, Jessica Usher, Anthony Usher, Sarah Usher and Meghan Linehan, all of South Glens Falls, NY.

At the family’s request there are no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00am Saturday, July 27, 2013 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Avenue, South Glens Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls.

Following the committal services all are invited back to the St. Michael's Parish Hall for a reception.
