Fort Edward

Edward R. Sherwood Sr., 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home surrounded by his family.

Born in Fort Ann on January 27, 1938, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Bullis) Sherwood.

On March 18, 1961, Ed married Patricia Mae Morris in Fort Ann. They spent 40 years together before Pat’s passing in 2001.

Ed enjoyed fishing, classic country music, was an avid Yankees fan, and most of all loved spending time with his family.

Besides his parents and wife, Ed is also predeceased by a daughter, Patsy Mae Sherwood, a granddaughter, Katelyn Sherwood, siblings, Joseph Sherwood, Elwin Sherwood, Dolores Gugliotta and husband Sam, and a sister in-law, Nora Sherwood.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Edward Sherwood Jr. and wife Michele of Argyle, two daughters, Mary Barlow of Glens Falls, and Darlene Sherwood of Saratoga Springs, three grandchildren, Christina Secor, Edward Sherwood III, and Bradley Sherwood, three great-grandchildren, McKenzie Secor, Jordyn Secor, and Nicolas French, siblings, Arthur Sherwood and wife Carol of Hudson Falls, George Sherwood of Fort Ann, Theresa Davis and husband Richard of South Glens Falls, and a sister in-law, Patricia Sherwood of Fort Ann, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
