At Martin's Mill we were a close group, concerned about each other on and off the job. John preferred to be happy...come what may. One day the chip bin was too full. John went up with a shovel to level it off and make room for more chips to be blown in. Unknown to John, a chip hauler pulled his trailer under the bin and opened the chute. John emerged from the depths of the trailer...smiling.
