A great sense of humor

The best time of my Junior High School years in the early 1960s was having Mr. Ross for homeroom teacher. He had me sit in the desk directly in front of his. During homeroom, the more serious I looked and tried to concentrate on homework, the more he tried to crack me up with jokes. He used to wiggle his ears, one at a time, and it drove me crazy. He wouldn't stop until I looked directly at him and started laughing. I felt an immediate connection to him when I learned he was a Plattsburgh State graduate and my oldest brothers were at that time college students at Plattsburgh.

His enthusiasm for teaching was apparent in everything he did and said in the classroom, and especially in how he handled all his students. He made learning math a fun time. As I progressed through the upper grades, he was always in the hallway between classes with a friendly greeting for anyone passing by. He seemed truly dedicated to his teaching profession and his students, and I'm sure there are many other FE graduates that feel the same way. God Bless you Mr. Ross and your lovely family.
