I remember one time when Mike & I invited Ma & Bob to dinner. We were living in Hudson Falls. I was preparing our meatloaf & Ma asked me what it was I was using? I told her that I was using ground turkey & she said, "Uh-oh!! Bob won't eat it. He doesn't like the ground turkey." I said that we'd see if he even knew the difference. She said he would, but I told her I didn't think so. We agreed not to say anything to him & just see what happened. Well, he didn't notice at all that it was ground turkey. He even asked if there was enough for him to have another slice. I told him he sure could. Then he asked me how I made my meatloaf?? I thought, uh-oh..but I told him everything I put in it. You should have seen the expression on his face. It was priceless..he couldn't believe that it was ground turkey & not hamburg. I told him it's healthier for you & he said, "It's really very good. I didn't care for it when we had it, but you do something that makes it taste really good." I looked at Ma & smiled. Asked her if she'd like my recipe. Some happy memories Bob leaves us with. Thank you, Bob for all the memories we will have to look back on & smile as this story has made me do!!
