Grace Ellen Seeholzer, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Glens Falls Center for Rehabilitation.

Born on July 7, 1926 in Mt. Vernon, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harold E. and Ruth Alice (Quincy) Zittel.

Grace graduated from Davis High School in Mt. Vernon, NY in 1944. Following high school, she worked at Vick Chemical Co. in New York City for two years doing office work.

On April 26, 1947, Grace married Berthold Seeholzer in Congregational Church in Brandon, Vt.

Grace was a member of various Protestant Churches and in the Christian Women’s Club and also the Jail Ministry in Broome County and Washington County.

She enjoyed wilderness canoeing, cooking and bible study. Grace kept a daily diary of her and her family’s life and deep thoughts associated with those fond memories from 1957 to 2006. She also kept detailed accounts of her world travels with Bert.

In addition to her parents, Grace was predeceased by her sister, Norma Jean Hathaway.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 71 years, Bert; her children, Caroline LaRose and her husband, Skip of Queensbury, David Seeholzer and his wife, Vanessa of Herkimer, NY, Steven Seeholzer and his wife, Lynn of Huntingdon Valley, PA, and Brian Seeholzer and his wife, Linda of Milton, VT; her brother-in-law, Ralph Hathaway;11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 1, 2018, at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803. To view Grace’s Book of Memories and post online condolences please visit kilmerfuneralhome.com.

To continue celebrating Grace’s life, family will gather at Bay Road Presbyterian Church, 1167 Bay Road, Lake George, NY 12845.

A Graveside Service for Grace and Bert will be conducted at 2:30pm on Friday, May 28, 2021, at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
