Obituary for Evan A Yarter

Evan A Yarter
South Glens Falls

Evan A. Yarter, 16, of Route 9, South Glens Falls, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009.

Born February 7 1993 at Albany Medical Center he was the son of Bruce and Debbie (Blanchard) Yarter. Evan spent his childhood in Halfmoon, moving to the South Glens Falls area five years ago.

Evan was a popular student at South Glens Falls High School. A wrestler since the 7th grade, he was a member of South High’s Junior Varsity Wresting Team and achieved many awards for the sport. Evan was also a member of the South High Snowboard Club, learning his love for that activity as well.

Outdoor sports always appealed to Evan, especially when it involved his friends. Besides quad riding, he and his friends loved paintball, and built a 3-story fort in an undisclosed location for use in the game. Evan always seemed to have the tools for the job at hand. He also was a computer wizard and enjoyed playing Guitar Hero.

Evan was very close to his family; they spent time camping, fishing, and bike riding. The family was always together, his sister thought the world of him, and they were all good buddies…Evan was everyone’s buddy.

His paternal grandparents, Ray and Joan Yarter of Halfmoon, predeceased Evan.

Survivors besides his loving parents include his sister, Hannah Yarter; his maternal grandparents, Shirley and Gil Blanchard of Cohoes; aunts and uncles, Diane Dumesnil, Gary (Denise) Blanchard, Richard (Carol) Blanchard, Judy (Eric) Weiss, Dave (Vicki) Yarter, and JoAnn (William) Niles. Several great aunts and uncles and many cousins also survive Evan.
