I’m sorry to hear about Kay but I’m sure God has a special place for her. With John being my best friend during high school and early college, I was in and out of the Donohue household quite a bit. Kay treated me like one of her own; hugs, kisses and the occasional scolding when I needed it. She made me feel more loved and accepted than at my own home. This is the kind of caring person Kay was. Kay also extended her love and acceptance to my wife (Sharon) as soon as she met her. Sharon has only fond memories of Kay. Later, whenever she ran into us, she would remind me of the prom night when John and I wore tuxedos with red silk-lined capes and then she’d give us that Kay laugh. One thing I think of quite often is the picture of the wall where the crucifix was. I have no doubt that Kay is with the Lord tonight. Sharon and I send our best wishes and condolences to Jack, John, and the entire Donohue family. Dave and Sharon Johnson (johnson@capital.net)

Dear John and Family,
I want to express my sympathy to at this time of your great loss. Kay was a terrific person inside and out. I enjoyed the messages she wrote to me. The last time I saw her at The Peppermill (where else?) ,she offered to race me with our walkers. She will be missed. Donna Carbino

I enjoyed your mom's quiet way about her but that also was shown with conviction. She obviously raised amazing children as you all were so attentive to both your parents.
Seeing your Mom and Dad together made my heart happy. I am so sorry to hear of her passing.

I will remember Kay for her selfless kindness, caring and concern for people, especially for Richard after his surgery and onward until his death. She was there when she was needed; she saw that need and met it. But I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that, kindness aside, she was an astute judge of character, unafraid to forthrightly call things as she saw them. (Woe to transgressors!) My time with her as I helped with Richard enriched me, and she will always hold a special place in my heart.
