The fight to defeat this disease is very meaningful to our family. Many of our family members have suffered the symptoms in their later years. Uncle Carl was always on the move and I am sure this was so frustrating for him to lose the context of each moment. Memories and associations are the heart of our consciousness as people and this disease steals them from its victims. I believe it is possible for us to win the battle for a cure of Alzheimer's so future generations will not suffer.
