Our Bond

My sister and I share a bond that was developed in our childhood growing up on a farm with my other sister Peachy. She took care of Peachy and I like an old mother hen even though Peachy was older and we were all very little. From cleaning manure to getting caught smoking in the apple orchard we did everything together. Our sisters Tracy then Lisa were born and our lives changed as we moved to Fort Ann. As we grew up Vicki started her own family, Melody and Brandy, and still our bond was as tight as ever. She took me in before I went into the navy so I got to help raise them when they were little, babysitting so she could work. Then after I got out of the navy she took me and my sister Lisa in, as always without blinking an eye.

Many years later we still enjoyed the few moments we could share on some vacation to share that bond and remember those days back on the farm when I had to endure all the face kissing that her and my sister Peachy loved to do to me. I will cherish all of my memories and I have over 50 years of them with her.

My sisters legacy is that nothing meant more to her than family and friends and what made her happiest in life was seeing her children, grandchildren, and now great grandchildren , spending time with them and hearing those precious words " I love you" accompanied with lots of hugs.  She told me how pround she was of all of her "Babies" and yes Mel and Brandy that means you too, you were her first "babies".  Nothing in this world brought her more joy

Our bond spread across over half a century as we grew, sometimes near, sometimes far, but it never changed. She has a place in my heart that is hers and hers alone , and I will be thankful for all the time we did get together these last few years and we got to go places and do things she had always dreamed of. I will miss her laugh and hugs, I would give anything hear her and hug her close again.
